Overview

phpMyAdmin is an outside tool for working with MySQL® and MariaDB® databases, for instance to add or remove rows. Its usage is covered on the phpMyAdmin website.

MySQL 8.0 and later caching

From version 8.0 onward, MySQL caches table statistics by default. Without extra configuration, changes to tables and their metadata can take as long as 24 hours to show in phpMyAdmin. After deleting data, for example, the real table size shrinks while phpMyAdmin may keep showing the old size for up to a day.

Adjust this behavior with the information_schema_stats_expiry variable.
