It is a virtual server with Windows Server that you use through Remote Desktop (RDP). You see a normal Windows desktop, but it runs in a data centre 24/7 with its own IP address and dedicated resources.
The hardware is the same. An RDP server comes with a licensed Windows Server and a graphical desktop; a Linux VPS comes with a command line and the Linux distribution of your choice. Pick RDP when your software needs Windows.
No. Every RDP server comes with a Windows Server Datacenter licence; it is already included in the plan price, there is nothing to buy or activate elsewhere. You choose the version (2016–2025) when ordering and can reinstall to another version later.
Windows Server allows two simultaneous administrator sessions out of the box. If more people need to work at the same time, Remote Desktop Services licences (RDS CALs) are required. Contact us and we will help you set this up.
Yes. You have full administrator rights: trading terminals, 1C, browsers, databases, any Windows application. Cryptocurrency mining and sending spam are not allowed.
