restic for files (deduplicated, encrypted, incremental), and mysqldump, mariadb-dump, pg_dump or mongodump for databases, on the host or inside Docker containers. The choice depends on your server and we explain it before the setup.
Once a day at night by default. When you order, you pick the backup time (Yerevan time) and how often: once a day, twice a day or every 6 hours. More frequent copies take more space, we help you pick a plan that fits.
As long as you want, within the plan space. Tell us the rule, for example 7 daily copies, 4 weekly and 12 monthly, and we set it up. Copies are incremental and deduplicated, so a long history usually takes only a little more than the data itself; if the data changes a lot we warn you before the space runs out and suggest a shorter history or a bigger plan.
You get a Telegram message straight away and so do we. We look into it, fix the cause and re-run the backup. A silently broken backup is exactly what this service exists to prevent.
You can download any stored copy yourself at any time: a single file, a database dump or the whole archive, free of charge. If you want our engineers to restore it onto your server, that is a paid job priced by the size and complexity of the restore; we name the price before we start and agree the steps with you.
No. Any Linux server with systemd (Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, Rocky and the like) at any provider works.
The copies sit on Bob.am storage in a European data centre, separate from your server. Archives are encrypted and every client has a separate account with its own space; only you, from your client area, and the engineers who run your backup can reach them.
Switch to a bigger plan, the copies stay in place.
